I’ve played Baytowne over the years and have enjoyed golf at this course. This past Thursday however, I was very disappointed. After checking in for my tee time, I hit a a few balls and headed to meet the starter to give home my receipt. He said you’re good to go except you’ll need to jump in another cart with the other player. I was confused, I never had to do that before there if I wanted my own cart. The starter was a crotchety old man probably in his 80s. I told him I needed my own cart today because I was working and other private matters I needed to tend to during my round. He said I’d either need to get in the other cart or I’d have to pay a cart fee. I told him I’ll pay the cart fee. The fee ended up being $40. I was not happy about that. We proceed to play the course and every green was lumpy, over grown and the pin cups hadn’t been moved in weeks. When I returned after my round I complained. The Manager, Kirk, explained to me that the are being need to grow higher and they can’t cut them low. That’s why you paid a discounted rate. I wasn’t told before I played that there was maintenance being done in the greens. But that wasn’t an excuse for not moving the cups. Well Kirk made things right. He refunded my cart fee and booked me a tee time on their much better course The Raven. I appreciate Kirk making things right. You guys still need to move those cups. I hope next year things will be in better shape.

WOW! SOOOOOOO DISSAPPOINTED!!!!!!!
My group of 14 traveled to play this course. It would have been better if we were not able to play due to Hurricane Helene just passing through.

We were charge $91+ dollars at a "DISCOUNTED PRICE" down from $120+.

However, unlike another reviewer, we were told it was discounted because they had aerated the greens but the club pro said it was for another reason.

The greens (ALL) were atrocious, the picture I have included is the BEST of the greens by far!

Our carts ran out of steam as we had to put them in reverse then drive OR power them off then back on to get them going again.

I finally called the pro-shop only for them to tell us to do what we were already doing but I refused to do that and had them bring out another cart for me.

We were big tippers as that is what we do because we understand that the employees are not always the problem but rather the club management staff.

It was a very hot day and I consumed all four bottles of water that I brought with me. For a luxury resort, I expected a courtesy bottle of water and at the very least the option to purchase a bottle but was directed back to the pro shop to purchase a bottle.

The only way I would play this course again would be for the green fees were to be $50 in the continue they were in or full price if they were in GREAT condition because the layout is nice and balance and the tee time spacing is good.

The bright side: the starter was a really nice guy and so were the cart keepers for lack of a better term.

The worst greens I’ve ever played on. I understand you have to punch and sand but there were also huge clumps of uncut grass in random places. Management should be embarrassed. Not a warning or an apology. I’ll never be back.

The course itself is a cool place. Good layout, nice pro shop, nice staff, and the fairways are in pretty good condition. But the greens make this course a 2 star course. These were truly the worst greens I have ever played. The spots that weren’t completely dead, were like shag carpet. Couldn’t believe it, to be honest. Paid $90 per person, and the greens do not make it worth it in my opinion. Hopefully they can get them figured out, because it could be a great track.

I’ve played this course numerous times when visiting the area and always enjoyed it. I was shocked at the condition of the course today. The greens were the worse I’ve ever played … not puttable. Cups haven’t been moved in weeks, greens are like putting on shag carpet, and no heads up from the pro shop. Traps (can’t call them sand traps since there is no sand) also in horrible shape. The fact they are still asking $90 for a green fee is unacceptable. Take your clubs and your money and go elsewhere.

Small driving range; need more spots for warm up. Space available but not set up. At bag drop staff could be more customer friendly. The fairways were all slightly soggy but the greens are very well maintained.

We had a foursome play on July 24 th. The course is challenging when in good shape but it was even more today. Some bunkers had no sand and all greens were sand covered so putting was impossible. We were Cart path only to add to it. When we were done, we pulled to the club drop and the guys there offered to clean our clubs but we declined and still gave them a $20 tip, since the same guys loaded us up to start and expected they would load the car to leave. I went to get my vehicle and pulled up to get the four sets of clubs loaded and the guys (2)were no where to be found, So we loaded our clubs our selves and left.
Needless to say, we can't recommend the course or the service with the exception of the person who checked us in. Nice guy.

30 years ago the company I worked for would bring 800-900 of us to the Sandestin Resort for our annual sales meeting. We probably came 10 years in a row. I, along with many friends, looked forward to playing golf. The courses were always pristine.
Not today. Far from it. I treated my son-in-law and grandson to golf at Baytown. $280 I should have left in my pocket. Apparently, based on reviews, course has been poorly maintained for more than a year. Greens were spotty and slow. Not good at all. Traps were horrible. Sides caving in, rain damage, no sand. Staff was pleasant. I would say it looks like all the maintenance money must be being spent on the other two courses. Owners are really taking advantage of the deep pockets of the tourists and visitors. Never again for me.
