Very friendly staff soon as you walk in that spark up conversation. The CSR that opens on the weekends helped me get a membership immediately after I got a gym pass to workout. Great ambiance with state of the art equipment. Dope music selection that won’t make you think twice if you left your headphones at home. Spotless clean locker rooms and showers. Janitorial staff is friendly and very helpful! Surprisingly not as congested with traffic in the mornings. Definitely recommend!

I initially had a positive impression of John Reed Gym – the music is loud, and the interior design is modern and eye-catching. However, there are some significant downsides, particularly when it comes to customer service.
My girlfriend and another female member felt uncomfortable when a male yoga instructor made inappropriate comments during a class, saying they looked good and that he should have brought a camera to take pictures of them. Additionally, this instructor’s public Instagram profile includes images that many might find unprofessional, including ones where he is partially undressed. When I raised these concerns in a review, Charity Knies, the Club Manager, responded in a dismissive manner. Rather than addressing the issues seriously, she suggested that instructors sometimes film their classes to gain more publicity and implied that I was suggesting the instructor was “creepy,” which was not my intent. Creepy? No. Inappropriate? Yes.
While people are entitled to their personal lives, maintaining a professional image is important, especially for someone representing a gym. Unfortunately, the management’s lack of concern and the instructor’s questionable social media presence have left me questioning the standards upheld by this facility.
Unfortunately, this lack of attention to customer service doesn’t stop there. I’ve noticed that while the gym may have processes in place, such as their cancellation policy, the focus seems to be more on rigidly adhering to these policies rather than prioritizing the satisfaction and retention of members. Sometimes things happen after a payment is made; you don’t always know something is going to occur before a payment is processed. It’s disappointing when management isn’t willing to show flexibility or understanding in such situations.
While I understand the need for processes, I believe that customer service should always be the top priority, especially when someone expresses a desire to continue their membership. It’s concerning when management isn’t willing to go the extra mile to ensure members feel valued and heard.
The gym does have its perks, such as convenient parking and a well-designed space, but the overall experience is marred by a management style that lacks the necessary empathy and flexibility. For these reasons, I’m giving it 2 stars. The atmosphere might be appealing, but if you value good customer service and responsive management, you may want to reconsider.

John Reed is a great gym and is very much worth the price. Signing up online is a breeze and the app works fine. I liked that there was no initiation fee like most gyms charge. Just sign up, pay the first months dues and your set. The gym itself is a great spot. All of the equipment is top of the line and everything in the gym works. There is no broken equipment. Locker rooms are very clean and hairdryers are provided. The vibe in this gym is great. Everyone there is there to workout and you won’t find people sitting around in equipment just wasting time. Join today, you won’t regret it for a minute.

Personally, it is not worth the price for a membership, however it is a fun weekend activity with a day pass. Staff is friendly but I was disappointed that there wasn't live music on a Saturday afternoon. At that time it was not crowded, and that did make it more enjoyable. Great places for photos/videos.
Bathrooms were clean, and have that luxury spa feel. Plenty of lockers and Dyson hairdryers are available!

Best Gym in the DFW area. Gym is Cutting-edge when it comes to design and the gym 80 equipment. Staff is always friendly. Gym is open from 5 am til midnight every day. Great lighting to take pics to post. Would definitely recommend to out of town visitors.

This is the vibe! Great people working towards the best versions of themselves. Always clean and the staff is as friendly and helpful as they come. This is a solid community of like minded people and recommend checking John Reed out.
The only thing I have to ask is, does it always have to be so cold? The AC works I can tell you that, but can someone please just turn the temperature up. Some areas have cold air blowing right on you as you are sweating causing a chill and pump to dissipate, which is not conducive to the work out.
All in all love this spot! I just want to come in, work hard and sweat my face off
***Update 8/12/24 it’s still cold… I’ve now fallen ill because how cold it continues to be in this gym. When you work up a sweat and the AC comes on…this is exactly how people get sick. I’m working out it be healthier not get sick because of how cold it is in here.
— I hate to say it but I’m going to start looking for a new gym now because of this very reason.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this gym and had an overall positive experience. The gym had a great atmosphere with a good vibe and excellent lighting for selfies, instructional videos, and training. I was impressed by the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities, including the beautiful bathrooms.
The front desk staff had great energy and were very friendly and kind. They were also knowledgeable about the gym's offerings, which was helpful. The gym offers several smith machines and workout styles, including hiit areas with CrossFit functions. The equipment was well-maintained and diverse, which made my workouts more interesting and engaging.
The music was great, and I didn't even need headphones. The gym played upbeat music, which helped keep me motivated during my workouts. It would be helpful to note that the music hits different genres but overall very good quality music is being played at all times.
Although the gym offers classes, I attended a few and did not recommend them. Unfortunately, there were only three people in each class, and the instructor wasn't challenging enough. However, the gym offers a variety of other workout styles that more than made up for the lackluster classes.
Overall, I highly recommend this gym. The crowd is young and motivated, and the gym has a great energy that will inspire you to push yourself harder. If you're looking for a gym with clean facilities, friendly staff, diverse equipment, and great music, this is the gym for you.
