When I say I just took a chance and tried out this salon today for a trip I have tomorrow..best decision ever! BEE is incredible with her braiding skills and the whole salon had a great feel to it. Everyone was hospitable and I loved not having to make an extra stop for buying hair. Bee did small tribal braids and it came out better than I could have expected. Bee and the salon/store has gained a loyal customer out of me!

This was my first time getting a weave, and I told my stylist this. I wish I’d known a few things ahead of time because the stylist did not leave enough hair out, so even though it has only been two and a half weeks, I can see the wefts on my left side of my head, and I have to be really careful how I do my hair so they aren’t super obvious. I also cannot wear my hair in a ponytail without the wefts showing on both sides in the front. 🙁 This means I have to style my hair every day or wear a headband to cover the wefts, but they are also very bulky in the front on the left side and difficult to conceal, even under a headband now that it has grown out a little.

I called the next day to say that overall I was pleased with how it tuned out, but I can’t pull may hair back without the wefts showing and asked if things could be fixed. I was told that since the braids are all connected, there wasn’t anything they could do besides take the whole thing out and start over. After spending nearly $700 for the hair and service plus tip, it seems unacceptable for a style to look good for less than three weeks. I purposely didn’t look because I wanted to be surprised, and it turns out that was a mistake. It looked great down for the first week or so, but now the imperfections near the front of the install are becoming more obvious and difficult to conceal due to the bulkiness of the layered wefts near my face. I don’t think I’ll even get a month of wear out of this style. It’s really unfortunate because my stylist was very kind. I just wish she’d asked more questions about how I usually wear my hair, so I could have told her to leave more hair out. I’m tempted to try to cut some of the weft in the front to try to get it to lay flatter and sew it back down, so that maybe I can get another 2 weeks out of it, but I’m worried the whole thing will come undone!

There was no offer to fix it when I called, so I’m not sure what to do. I saw lots of beautiful work being done at the salon when I was there, and I might give this place another try, just with a different stylist. See pics for the terrible grow out. 🙁 My advice is to be VERY explicit about how much hair you want left out to avoid ending up in my situation.

Update: I took the weave out, and omgggg I lost SO MUCH HAIR, most of it right from the root. I have had faux locs, both crochet and braid-in, cornrows, and twists, and I have never lost this much hair before. I’m devastated. The hair that’s left is very fragile and was damaged (we’re talking very split ends) up the hair shaft past my shoulders. My hair was a little past shoulder length and very thick before this install. I’d been working on growing it out, and I thought this would be a protective style. I can only guess that the braiding was too tight and that the friction caused by not having a wig cap caused damage to the hair that was braided and tucked under in the back. I couldn’t believe it when I took the style out. I had to cut off so much hair. I now have a bob. It looks fine, and thankfully I have a lot of hair, but a lot of women would have bald spots if they lost the amount of hair that I lost. So so sad.

Nobody from the salon has reached out to try to apologize or try to make it right either, so I’ll definitely never go back and would caution anyone against going due to the risk of losing hair. Do NOT buy their hair either. It was so tangled and dry and very matted by the time I took it out. I was given no hair care instructions, so I tried all kinds of things to bring life back to it, only adding to the cost. I ended up throwing it away. All in all, this was a huge waste of time and money, and I’m worse off now than before I went in. 🙁

To start - this was one of the best salon experiences I’ve had. The salon was clean, played great music & overall good vibes. My stylist Simone was on time, professional, helpful and thorough with prepping my hair for braids AND I love how they came out!
However, I was disappointed when I got in my car and was heading home and finally looked at my ends. One of my braids was already coming undone and others were matted at the ends. Overall - experience & service was good, but disappointed with the attention to detail on my ends.

There’s no worse feeling as a woman than being so excited to get your hair done and a series of events causes that to not happen. I have been to LA Beauty Club multiple times for all styles from silk press to braids and rave about them and refer friends because of the professionalism and experience. However, after today I feel small and unappreciated as a customer. I had a 10:00 AM appointment today for a braid style that was going to take at least 5 hours. I had a mishap in my morning which was going to cause me to be about 25 minutes late. I called at 9:45 and left a message explaining the situation. I guess since they don’t open until 10:00 AM (the same time as my appointment) they didn’t receive the message I left. I was about 10 minutes away at 10:15 and they called me and started the call with “are you still coming for you appointment” I replied yes that I left a message and was 10 minutes away, she then continued to tell me that my appointment would be canceled and that the stylist would be taking the next appointment. I was confused and distraught because how does someone else have an appointment when I was going to be there for the next several hours? I pleaded that that I called and gave a heads up but they refused to accommodate and have empathy or understanding. I was really upset because I paid a $40 deposit and had plans surrounding getting my hair done. I understand from a business perspective of cancelling a no show but considering I called in advance giving a heads up, I was expecting a little more compassion for the situation. I have been to this business where the stylists have been late before and I was understanding and didn’t complain. I had higher expectations from LA Beauty club and would not recommend going if you are hoping for them to be understanding of small emergencies while you are going to pay your money.

If I could give them 10/10 I would! I had DEZ she was absolutely amazing. Everyone in the shop was warm and welcoming. Dez did such an amazing job, my braids are tight BUT NOT painful. She's so light handed I had no idea she was done when she finished!

I’ve been here a few times before and each time the experience is better. This time I needed my hair done on short notice so I was able to easily book an appointment. When I arrived at the salon I was greeted with smiles and hellos. I felt taken care of by my braider, Dez. She provided a lot of care and attention to me as I had a broken leg. She made sure I was comfortable despite my injury and I did not have to worry about anything except for relaxing and getting my hair done. I will definitely be back and recommend to everyone!

Went in as a first time customer and haven't been to a salon in decades. They made the process easy and relaxing. I got a traditional sew in and it came out great. Bee does amazing work!
